| Turtle and Jeffery Odai spent every winter from 2001-2005 playing music in the Arizona desert with whatever musicians were on hand from Phoenix and in town for the Renassiance Festival. As they had been focusing on original material in 2005 they compiled a list of Americana composers and started picking songs. The core of the band was William and Jeff from Yachay on guitars and drums. Archie Neterval of Knuckleball Productions on bass and Odai singing. Jelly Roll Joel McCune happened back to Phoenix and spent a day recording. From the Festival they brought in Steve Cohen on banjo and lapsteel who played in the original line up of the Association. Emuseki's Mark and Jenny O'Conner arranged with guitars and violins. Dave Macejka(who recorded his album at Levon Helm's)studio dropped by and sat in on drums for a song. Limited run of unnumbered hard copies existed but were lost in Odai's move back to Detroit. If you have one it may well be the only one(s). We hope you enjoy this sample Track Listing 1. Heartland/Beck 2. It Takes A Lot To Laugh But it Takes A Train To Cry/Bob Dylan 3. Setting The Woods On Fire/Hank Williams 4. Ain't Got No Home/Woody Guthrie 5. Kaw-Liga/Hank Williams | |
